WHAT ABOUT ME?

Steve’s Film Transfer was formed in the 2010s by me, Steve Argent, a former rugby player, newspaper political journalist, NHS public relations director and all-round film buff, computer nerd, amateur (very!) tennis player and horse rider.

I continue to make customers and friends smile by bringing their long-unseen footage to the light, putting VHS and camcorder tapes, silent cine films, vinyl and audio cassettes onto DVDs, CDs, memory sticks and the internet.

My shop is in Matlock, Derbyshire, appropriately enough in the former Ritz Cinema building, which was converted to shops and offices in 2005.

I also work from home in Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire, while my customers come from all over the world.

I still enjoy eating a lot of ice cream, especially mince pie flavour, and ramble on about losing weight and getting fitter!

“Steve’s shop was a fantastic find. My old VHS tapes and my late father’s old cine films transferred to a memory stick brought back priceless memories. Thank you again Steve for an amazing job. Would highly recommend.”

“I’ve had lots of work done by Steve over the years, from copying to transferring slides onto stick or discs. Always good quality and price and on time. Why go anywhere else when you get perfection every time.”

“The cine has been wonderful. I started doing this to help my 96 year old Mum with her memory and we have been watching them together and she knows a lot of the names of the people. A side benefit is that I have been able to share the footage with family and friends who appear in the films, or with younger relatives to be able to see footage of their parents who have since passed away. So these conversions are bringing a lot of joy.”

“Steve was so helpful when I wanted to make a DVD from the many recordings I had on my phone. He gave easy to implement suggestions on how we could do it for the bests results. I have used Steve many times now. Thanks to him, my children now have many DVDs to watch, looking back on their childhood: priceless!”
